Michael Hill
Founder
Director of Player Development
Michael Hill is the Founder and Director of Player Development for The Hill Effect and one of the most respected basketball trainers and coaches in the Cincinnati area. A Cincinnati native and former collegiate basketball player at Cincinnati Christian University, Coach Mike has dedicated his career to developing athletes, building winning programs, and helping young people reach their full potential.
With more than a decade of coaching, training, and player development experience, Coach Mike currently serves as the Head Varsity Boys Basketball Coach at Hughes High School, where he was named the 2025-2026 CMAC Coach of the Year after leading one of the conference's most successful programs. Known for his ability to develop talent and build strong team cultures, Coach Mike has earned a reputation as a coach who consistently helps athletes maximize their potential both on and off the court.
As the Founder of Nati Elite Basketball, Coach Mike has trained and mentored hundreds of athletes throughout the region, including numerous collegiate players, Division I prospects, and high-level student-athletes. Many of the athletes he has worked with began training under his guidance at a young age and have continued their development through middle school, high school, and beyond.
His player development philosophy extends far beyond basketball skills, emphasizing discipline, confidence, accountability, leadership, basketball IQ, and a relentless work ethic. Whether working with beginners learning the fundamentals or advanced athletes preparing for the next level, Coach Mike is committed to helping every player grow in the game and in life.
At The Hill Effect, that commitment remains the same: developing complete athletes through purposeful training, proven instruction, and a standard of excellence that challenges players to become the best version of themselves.


Marlon Hill
Trainer
Marlon Hill serves as a Head Trainer for The Hill Effect and brings a passion for player development, leadership, and mentorship to every athlete he works with. With years of coaching and training experience, Coach Marlon is committed to helping athletes develop the skills, confidence, discipline, and work ethic necessary to succeed both on and off the court.
Coach Marlon currently serves as the Head Junior Varsity Boys Basketball Coach at Hughes High School and is a key leader within the Nati Elite Basketball program, where he has helped develop athletes from the youth level through high school competition. Known for his ability to connect with players and build meaningful relationships, he focuses on creating an environment that challenges athletes to grow while holding them accountable to a high standard.
His training philosophy emphasizes skill development, basketball IQ, conditioning, mental toughness, and character development. Whether working with beginners learning the fundamentals or advanced players preparing for the next level, Coach Marlon is dedicated to helping every athlete reach their full potential.

Arieanna Richardson-Hill, M.S.
Co-Founder
Director of Operations
Arieanna Richardson-Hill serves as the Co-Founder and Director of Operations for The Hill Effect, where she oversees program operations, strategic planning, athlete services, communications, and organizational development.
With more than a decade of experience in student-athlete support services, behavioral health, education, and nonprofit leadership, Arieanna brings a unique combination of operational expertise and a passion for youth development. She holds a Master of Science in Health Education from the University of Cincinnati and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Organizational Leadership.
As the Co-Founder of Nati Elite Basketball, Arieanna has helped build programs that have impacted hundreds of athletes and families throughout the Cincinnati community. Her commitment to developing young people extends beyond athletics, emphasizing character, accountability, confidence, academic success, and personal growth.
